Week in Words: September 30 – October 6

A round up of the best City pieces online and in print over the last seven days.

1: The Bayern We Loved, The Cup We Cared For, by Simon Curtis

On Wednesday, the peerless Simon Curtis, who runs Down The Kippax Steps, wrote this piece taking us back to the 70s to celebrate the great Bayern Munich side containing Beckenbauer, Muller and Hoeness. Anyone with an interest in the history of European football should read this, it’s superb.

2: The A to Z of City Legends, by Howard Hockin

Any self-respecting blog-reading City fan will know Howard’s work. He’s witty, erudite and always bang on the money. This week, he compiled a lovely A to Z of City legends feature for his site Come On City. From Aguero to Zabaleta, via Terry Christian (yes, that one), it offers up a great sense of what being a City fan over the last few decades has been about.

3: Opposition view: Everton, by Ric Turner

Over on Bluemoon, Ric Turner interviewed Daniel Kidd and a bloke from the Love Everton Forum to get the lowdown on Everton. Some interesting views on their new manager and our man Barry. They love him already.

4: Five Hart Replacement Options for City, by David Mooney

With Hart’s form the subject of intense scrutiny, David Mooney on ESPN looks at potential replacements.

5: Manchester City Will Regret Not Signing A Goalkeeper

If those pieces aren’t enough for you, here’s one of mine. I wrote this about Joe Hart for Bleacher Report.
