Joe Hart – 6.5
Rarely troubled and comfortable throughout most of the game. His distribution was notably much better than usual. Unfortunate not to claim the clean sheet because of Rooney’s perfect free kick.
Pablo Zabaleta – 7.5
Another typical Pablo performance. Determined, resilient and aggressive, Pablo summed up everything about City yesterday. His buccaneering runs down the right troubled Evra all game while he made a monstrous 10 tackles.
Vincent Kompany – 9
Utterly immense. A solid brick wall thoroughly the entire game. Undoubtedly one of Vincent’s best performances in a City shirt. Vinnie sniffed out chance after chance and was unlucky not to claim the clean sheet. His commanding and assertive presence showed everyone why he is, easily, one of the best center backs in the world. His domination of Rooney was also thoroughly enjoyable.
My Man of the Match.
Matija Nastasic – 7.5
Yet another solid display from Nastasic. Matija is quickly becoming one my favourite players. He picked up an early yellow card for a silly challenge but he knuckled down and kept his shape. He does everything ever so quietly and out of the spotlight, Matija he has no time for Hollywood slide tackles. Consequently, Nastastic was a rock.
Aleks Kolarov – 6.5
Easily one of his best performances in a City shirt. Aleks’ looked a dead man in the summer but now he looks somewhat revitalised under Pellegrini. His cross for Aguero’s first was excellent while his attacking play was great at times. Somewhat struggled against Valencia in the second half and could’ve easily conceded a penalty but put in a great shift in Clichy’s absence.
Fernandinho – 7
Took time to settle in but Fernandinho played an important part in the win. One of City’s quieter players, Ferny shielded the defence much better than he did on Wednesday and managed to sniff Fellaini and Carrick out of the game. His 5 interceptions from midfield were testament to his well kept shape.
Yaya Toure – 8.5
You can always count on Yaya in derbies and Toure is the epitome of ‘Big Game Player’. Albeit underwhelming in the ‘smaller’ games, Yaya really strutted his stuff today and made the midfield his own. It’s been years since the last time a United midfield showed up and you can attribute that to Yaya’s dominating presence.
Jesus Navas – 6.5
Offered an pacey option all game and his superb run to set up Nasri’s goal killed the game. Again, like Fernandinho, Jesus was one of City’s quiter players but he certainly played his part.
Samir Nasri – 8
An inspiring and majestic performance from the Frenchman. His backheel to set up Kolarov was great while his movement and dribbling all game was too much for United to handle. Thoroughly deserved his goal.
You can totally understand Mancini when he said he felt like punching him sometimes because days like these are so far and few, and its such a shame because Nasri is very, very talented.
Sergio Aguero – 8.5
An on form Aguero is a sight to behold. His movement yesterday was absolutely exceptional at times. Aguero always delivers in derbies and his first goal was a brilliant improvised finish. He looked sharp all game and deserved his second goal with a little help from De Gea.
Alvaro Negredo – 7.5
Somewhat peripheral at the beginning, Negredo slowly grew into the game offering a physical and vibrant presence. Negredo was bullying Ferdinand and Vidic at times and his two assists for Yaya and Aguero were delightful.
Milner – 6
Brought on to close the game out and he did exactly that.
Dzeko – 5
Should have/could have really scored in the 15 minutes he partook in.
Garcia – No time to mark
