City legend Bert Trautmann sadly passed away today at the age of 89. The German goalkeeper made more than 500 appearances for City between 1949 and 1964 after arriving in England as a prisoner of war. He is best known for being the man who played on despite breaking his neck during City’s FA Cup Final triumph against Birmingham City in 1956. As a tribute to Bert, here is a video of the highlights of Trautmann’s most famous game: The FA Cup Final 1956.
