Ahead of tomorrow’s game against Fulham here is a round up of all the talk before the game. Roberto Macini has his say and Fulham manager, Martin Jol, previews the match.
Fulham are a good team, they have good players. When we played them away, we won the game in the last second. We played very well and deserved to win but tomorrow will be a different game. They won their last game away against West Brom, they are very dangerous on counter-attack. Their manager has big experience and he knows he can do well. It depends on us
All the top three are fighting for everything. Last year City were a bit lucky, scoring in the final seconds (against QPR to win the league). It was quite exciting. There is not a lot between these top sides. They are out of Europe but they can live with it and can now focus on the league. That is probably one of the advantages they have over other teams like Manchester United.
We are unbeaten in January so far, have won two away games, which is pretty good. We had draws against Blackpool and Wigan. That is not alarming. If you compare us to last season, I think after Christmas we were unbelievable. If the league was those six months we would have been top five.
I feel we are strong enough to get points. Last season we had 52 points – but we had different players as well. We had Clint Dempsey scoring goals and Alex Kacanaklic is doing well but he is young (21 years old) and you can’t expect him to be the same.
In the midfield, Mahamadou Diarra wasn’t there last season and (Steve) Sidwell wasn’t there, Bryan Ruiz wasn’t there. We had Danny Murphy and Mousa Dembele. Considering the problems we could have had we have done OK.
