NEWS: Yaya Toure Named 2012 African Player of the Year

For the second consecutive year, Manchester City’s Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure has been named African Player of the Year. Yaya was named ahead of second placed Didier Drogba, who scored the winning penalty in the Champions League final with his last touch of a ball for Chelsea, and Arsenal’s Alex Song, who finished third. The award is voted for by coaches and technical directors who work for countries that fall within the Confederation of African Football.

Let’s hope Yaya can make it a hattrick in 2013. Here is the list of other recent winners:
