Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente has fuelled speculation linking him with a move to City or Spurs by admitting “I really like the Premier League in England.” Llorente, who has been strongly linked with a move to Italian champions Juventus, is out of contract at the end of the season, and clubs are now on red alert for his signature.
I am approaching the date when I can think about signing for another club. I am happy to let my brother and representatives deal with that, so I can concentrate on playing for Athletic.
But I really like the Premier League in England, and I have already mentioned more than once that it is a league that appeals to me. You never know. It could be a good option for me, but we will have to wait and see what happens.
Encouraging words for the English sides chasing his signature, but Juventus’ pursuit of Llorente pre-dates any other clubs’ and puts them in a strong position.
It’s difficult not to be excited about the prospect of Llorente joining City, though. He is a fantastic player and his arrival would surely see Edin Dzeko, who struggles badly when he starts, become surplus to requirements.
