City take on Fulham this afternoon at Craven Cottage. In the corresponding fixture last season City threw away a 2 goal lead to draw the game. This time around, Roberto Mancini will be desperate for 3 points to ensure that City stay in touching distance of the leading pack.
High on the list of priorities for Mancini will be a clean sheet and an assured performance that will go some way to breeding some confidence into his players. City have conceded 7 goals in 5 league games this season, something which cannot continue if City are serious about retaining their Premier League crown.
Mancini can welcome back Samir Nasri who has recovered from a hamstring injury picked up against Real Madrid. However, Jack Rodwell is unavailable after injuring his groin in the pre-match warm up against Aston Villa on Tuesday.
Long term absentee, Micah Richards, is back in training after his ankle injury picked up at the Olympics but is still some way away from match fitness.
