Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente has made the clearest hint yet that he may be ready to leave the San Mames Stadium.
The 27-year-old is rumoured to be interesting Chelsea and Manchester City and they will be on red alert after his latest comments.
I can not guarantee that I will still be with Athletic in 2013. In January I’m free to talk and I will consider all my options.
I had some interesting offers in the summer, but each time Athletic referred them to my release clause.
There is of course a chance of renewing my contract with the club – I’ve spoken often with both the president and the coach, and they’re helping me in every way possible.
Mancini arguably sees the 6’5’’ forward as an ideal replacement for Edin Dezko were the Bosnian to leave City. Llorente has proven time and again that he is a fantastic target man who can score goals. On his day he is unplayable and, at a reported £15m, he wouldn’t cost the earth. He has 82 goals in 237 games for Bilbao, as well as 7 goals in 21 international games for Spain.
