City Football Academy

After four years of planning and intense research across five continents, Manchester City today announced that work is now set to commence on the new City Football Academy.

It’s a groundbreaking project and one is looking to support the local community and boost the local economy wherever possible. Included in the plans are:

  • A new Academy for up to 400 young players with classrooms for 200
  • On site accommodation for junior and senior players
  • 16.5  football pitches, 12 of them dedicated to players aged from 8 to 21
  • A state of the art first team building with changing rooms, gym, refectory and injury and rehab centre
  • A 7000 capacity stadium for youth matches
  • Staff offices and a dedicated media centre
  • A bridge linking the site to the Etihad Stadium and the rest of the Etihad Campus

No wonder our owners are so revered by the fans – this is investment that will establish our club as a leading light in youth development for years to come. Please take the time to watch the videos embedded below. This is a truly amazing project and one that, as City fans, we should be very proud of.
