City will look to continue their winning start to the season with a visit to Anfield to play Liverpool. In the corresponding fixture last season, City scraped a point after a 1-1 draw in which City weathered a late Liverpool storm. After a winning but shaky start to this season Roberto Mancini will be looking for a more assured performance from his players this time around.
City will be without talismanic striker Sergio Aguero after the Argentine suffered a bizarre knee injury last week against Southampton. Aguero is expected to be on the side lines for at least a month which could mean the first start of the season for either Edin Dzeko or Mario Balotelli. Gareth Barry (abdominal) and Micah Richards (ankle) are both long term absentees.
