Welcome…Jack Rodwell

Robert Pollard

Much has been made about Jack Rodwell’s move to City. Why did City sign a player who has clearly failed to live up to his early hype? Will he get games? Will the move stifle his career? It’s difficult to say for sure but I’m tempted to say it’s a good move for the club. I’ve always been a big admirer of his talents and, although he hasn’t flourished at the rate I first thought, £12m isn’t such a large price to pay for young Englishman with bags of ability. It’s a shame that Javi Martinez won’t be joining but if Rodwell steps up to the challenge, he could do well at City.

I’m looking forward to seeing him get a chance. With Barry entering the later stages of his career, it’s important to keep the midfield fresh. He also seems like a bloody decent lad. Here’s his press conference for those who missed it first time.

  3. Hope you’re right about him, he seems a decent lad. I’m hoping they don’t decide to ‘do a QPR’ every game though, after today!
